LATRESA D. MCLAWHORN, ESQ MANAGING PRINCIPAL OF THE MCLAWHORN FIRM, PLLC
Latresa D. McLawhorn began her legal career at Arent Fox, PLLC in Washington, DC. She has also served as Counsel at a top-notch boutique firm. In 2005, she realized that many of her clients and individuals lacked clear understanding of estate planning, asset protection and nonprofit law. Her passion for educating, financial literacy, and protecting wealth led her to establish The McLawhorn Firm, PLLC. 
She is a published author and a frequent speaker at workshops and seminars educating business professionals, entrepreneurs and organizations on the importance of proper estate planning and various asset protection techniques. She is also an avid financial literacy volunteer and has taught classes to youth and adults in the U.S. and South Africa.
Ms. McLawhorn is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the N.C. Journal of Law and Technology and participated in the school’s Community Development and Nonprofit Law Clinic. She earned her B.S. degree in Computer Science from Spelman College, where she was a NASA Women in Science and Engineering Scholar. Ms. McLawhorn is a member of the District of Columbia bar, Georgia bar, American Bar Association, Black Entertainment and Sports Law Association and The Marathon Club.
