About the Founder: Latresa D. McLawhorn

While working at Arent Fox, LLP and at a high-end Washington boutique firm, Latresa D. McLawhorn realized that many business owners, individuals and nonprofit organizations were not as knowledgeable as they needed to be about estate planning, asset protection and the laws that would help preserve their hard-earned assets. As a tireless advocate for financial literacy, Ms. McLawhorn serves both her clients and the greater community. Through workshops and seminars in the United States and South Africa and as a published author, she shares her knowledge about estate planning and asset protection techniques. It's a passion for service that began early on, when she served as articles editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology and worked at the Center for Community Self-Help and the Community Development and Law Clinic while studying at the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Ms. McLawhorn is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law and was a NASA Women in Science and Engineering Scholar at Spelman College, where she earned a B.S. in Computer Science.
